At Graves' End (Night Huntress #3) by Jeaniene Frost

This was a real emotional ride!!! even though this is a re-read for me, and even though I kinda remember a lot of the details it was still hard to listen to.. I have to hand it to Cat she is one hellova woman. There is nothing she can't handle even if sometimes she does need a little encouragement. But prepared to be SHOCKED!

In this book Cat has a one motherfucker strong enemy who is also aligned with Max (her father). Both of them wants her and Bones dead - permanently dead... In order to defeat this greater evil a very powerful alignment is made between Bones and Mencheres (even if at the time, Bones isn't sure what Mencheres end game is). Mencheres has his secrets, that for sure, but he was always a favorite in my eyes, even though he tend to act without explaining himself.. (can't wait for his book! chronologically it's after the forth Cat & Bones installment)

The Mistress (The Original Sinners #4) by Tiffany Reisz

Sadly, for me, this book has been a disappointment. This is the last book in the series, or, half the series since this is the "Red Years" and there are 4 books planned for the "White Years" relating to the time when Nora / Eleanor was younger. I haven't decided yet if I want to read it or not but we'll see.. Kind of strange reading "what happened before" when you already know exactly how it's all going to end..

We start the book with Nora being held by Kingsley's sister. At the moment it's quite obvious it's her.. I must say during the previous book I KNEW it was her for quite a long while though I WAS wondering how she faked her death.. (especially since it was an isolated area). This woman is REALLY fucked up.. and as the summary says it does sometimes feel like Scheherazade AKA Nora telling her kidnapper stories to keep herself alive...

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress #2) by Jeaniene Frost

Another action and fun packed Urban Fantasy / Paranormal Romance of our Cat & Bones. The last book ended with Cat and Bones being separated, but you didn't really think it would mean they are over now did you? It did take them time to find one another, in "real life" as well as in the book.

We start off with Cat being working in Don's operation for the past 4 years. No Bones in sight. But a non typical assignment by Don brings her to someone from Bone's past and through him she sort of send him a message bringing him closer to her than he has been able to get the past 4 years.

The Prince (The Original Sinners #3) by Tiffany Reisz

WOW what a rush! I'm talking mainly about the ending which left me opened mouthed craving to get my hands on the next one. I couldn't even sleep properly I was keep finding myself half awake considering the options of whats REALLY going on but wasn't sure if all the information was played in the previous 3 books is enough.

The Angel (The Original Sinners #2) by Tiffany Reisz

My friend Eleanor who recommended this series to me (yeah, I find it amusing as well :P) told me this series is a total mind fuck. Well, I'm not in the end YET but I think I would have said it a bit differently - "and the plot thickens....".

In the previous book we got to know Nora Sutherlin and also - to use her own words against her - the one who owns her heart - Wes and the one own everything else - Søren. Søren received an honor he didn't really want - an opportunity to be elected to a higher office. Well, he isn't there yet but he is considered to the part and lets just say that not wanting it is an understatement. Being in a higher office means he won't be able to spend his free time doing as he chooses especially not fucking his "little one" Eleanor (AKA Nora) who finally returned to him a year ago after 7 years apart (note - the book takes place a year after the previous book ends). Therefore Søren decides the best way to deal with this "problem" is while both she and Michael (whom he rescued from a suicide about two years ago and brought into the S&M world) wouldn't be there when the sharks comes to pray (to see if he is fit for the job). Not wanting to get the job is one thing, getting the truth about his extracurricular activities is entirely a different one!

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1) by Jeaniene Frost

Though I recently read the last book in the series, I felt like re-listening to it from the beginning, reminding myself what I loved so much about it. I remembered this series got me hooked from the first second and both Cat and Bones became characters I wanted to visit and re-visit as long as possible (then came the spin off series of Vlad - Night Prince - and all I wanted is Vlad - more more more!!!).

When I started organizing this blog I realized most of the books in this series don't have reviews since I read them before I started monitoring my reading through GoodReads - too bad! really! Then when I made my Series Pages I decided that this series will be the first I re-visited so I can enjoy it all over again and also review it properly.

The Siren (The Original Sinners #1) by Tiffany Reisz

Captivating. I think that's the best word to describe this book. Half pun intended :)

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but what I DIDN'T expect, is I won't be able to put it down for a second. That I would fight myself to keep on reading and not go to sleep just so I'll read another chapter and yet another.

The story, the characters, the plot and all the missing bits and pieces keeps you utterly captivated. The writing was beautiful, had so many laugh out loud moments I could have highlighted half the book. Nora Sutherlin (AKA Eleanor Schreiber) the main character in this book was a joy to read. I do enjoy reading  a smart and feisty woman! She keeps all men (almost!) on their toes around her. That being said, Nora wasn't always who she is now, her past haunts her and as the story continues we learn about what and especially WHO she wants to keep in her past (or does she?).

Harder (Caroline and West #2) by Robin York (Ruthie Knox)

This is the second (and last) installment in the Caroline and West "series". If you haven't read the first one - SHAME ON YOU! and you shouldn't read this review since it will only confuse you.. So start with "Deeper". After picking it up be sure to have the this one waiting by your side because there is NO WAY you are going to just finish the book feeling content with the way things ended...

Back to You (Second Chances #1) by Leighton Rose

This has been a nice enough story. I got good recommendation on it from a friend.

The story starts with Taylor and Alex breaking up. They both love each other but their relationship somehow doesn't really work. They keep fighting. I don't know what they were fighting about since it wasn't mentioned but I guess since they were both quite young I can get it (round 21-22 years old). Alex is the one to break the relationship not wanting to get to the point were they break up while hating each other.

Marked by Midnight (Midnight Breed #11.5 - Mathias Rowan and Nova) by Lara Adrian

This one was a short novella telling us of Mathias Rowan (who used to work for the Darkhaven Enforcement agency and helped the Order) finding his Mate in the very colorful Nova.

They meet when Mathias is helping an old friend with an investigation of a possible serial killer. His special ability brings him to the door step of the tattoo shop Nova works in.

I really enjoyed seeing their "play" until they "got" to each other. Him being a stubborn white knight wanting to save the pretty woman, an she, a woman who can take care of herself and is in no need of such a knight (or so she says ;))

Hold on Tight (Returning Home #1) [Mira & Jake] by Serena Bell

This book was simply AMAZING. I don't even know how to write this down so you'll get it - it's just a beautiful read. I loved the two main characters, appreciated both of them for being who they are and how they are, for being inspiring for me, for being strong each in his/her own way and for finding each other and completing the circle bringing them to a place of happiness they just couldn't have had before.

Free Falling by SE Jakes

It's strange.. as much as I didn't like the previous book I've read by SE Jakes (Dirty Deeds) I REALLY enjoyed this one. I felt I could really see Mick and Blue's relationship building even it wasn't in a very "orthodox" kinda way.. I  loved getting to know both of them. I think about half of the book at least was building the relationship (and having A LOT of sex!) and them WHAM BAMM crazy action I couldn't put my kindle down and yet we ended in a peaceful and happy note. I also loved that we had the aggressive moments as well as the more tender ones. I did find myself almost with tears at one scene (then the action took me right out of the moment! wooooosh!)

This was a full story told in not that long book (~120 pages) which was great. Usually it's insta-love, mind blowing sex and not a lot of plot. Here we had it all!
