Love in Retrograde by Charlie Cochet

WOW! Simply OUTSTANDING! Near midnight I realized I can't sleep so decided to start reading this one. I was actually afraid to start.. I don't usually like Sci-Fi (novels, movies, etc) but as I'm going through Charlie's booklist I decided to give this one a go and I'm so glad I did! I couldn't and wouldn't put this one down until I finished. WOW. What an emotional ride. It was SO not what I was expecting, though I'm not even sure what I DID expect.

I have very little I can say about this novel not to spoiler it. A word can destroy it for you and I really don't want to do that! We are in the future, New London to be precise. Kelly Sutton has been working on a special project called "Mars". Though he did a lot of work behind the scenes he actually doesn't know what this project IS or what it DOES or suppose to do. Yet he wants more, and as he decides to ask to be more involved he stumbles upon a conversation he shouldn't have heard making his wish come true - now he is SERIOUSLY involved in the project.

Spending day in and day out, a few months pass by before he realizes that he is even more "invested" in the project than he thought possible. He doesn't know what to do. He is "dumped" in the middle of it trying to figure out his feelings, his actions, what is expected from him and in the middle of all that there's a man he can't fathom. He affects him, he takes him to his limits, he makes him question so much more of everything around him and it mostly confuses the HELL out of him.

Yet when the government gets TOO involves Kelly realizes there is one this he is GOING to do, and it's protect the one he came to cherish.

That's all I'm willing to say. I know, it feels too vague, too little. Yet I rather not. I think the best thing would be for you to grab this one and delve into it. It exceptionally well written, beautiful, emotional yet at the end action packed. It has it all though it's quite short. I feel like I've got the whole story. I didn't need anything else. We got our HEA and it was simply BEAUTIFUL.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
