January 2016 Recap

Truthfully there is VERY little that happened this month.. (January's Goals), well, not exactly.. I mean very little READING because I had A LOT to do concerning my new house which was fun :) I love moving to a new place, organizing my stuff and feeling the fresh start :)

Total Read - 7 ebooks / 1587 pages (~51 pages a day)

One thing I haven't mentioned here, is a book I started and decided to put aside for next month (only read 15%..). I was just NOT in the mood for New Adult this month so I decided to give it a go when I'm more "myself".

This Recap is going to be A LOT shorter than usual.. so here goes!

★  ★  ★  ★  ★ - Cheers and Shouts for the Favorites -  ★  ★  ★  ★  ★

So this month I FINALLY started The English Brothers series (Actually "sub-series" in the Blueberry Lane series) by Katy Regnery. It was a JOY. I loved all MC, and the way the romance was building. half of them is a love rekindled which made it extra sweet, the the ones that weren't brought also a tender love story to cherish. These ones are quite short so with the first ones I kinda wished there was a little MORE but as the series continued, as we got more of the brothers and family tides they got better and better. My absolute favorite is the 4th of Stratton because Stratton ~sigh~ is PERFECTION, my absolute favorite Book Boyfriend :) I was never impressed with macho, alpha, high handed males, the silent sweet types for me are much appreciated :)

▲  ▲ On the Fence ▼  ▼
Well, Rule (Marked Men, #1) by Jay Crownover was actually an okay read, even more considering I gave it a 4 star rating, yet it WAS a bit of a struggle. I can't say I truly liked both MC. I had too many misgiving about their behavior, for me it felt a bit too "childish". I mean, if this was a YA novel I would have been fine with it, but I somehow expect more from NA though maybe I shouldn't. Mostly it was too much drinking to oblivion and not thinking before doing leading to.. Didn't really appreciate that.. I'm going to give the series another chance. I re-scheduled it for next month so we'll see how it goes. Also I DID mentioned above I wasn't into New Adult this month but I'm not sure if it has to do with me, or with this one putting me on the edge of what I'm "comfortable" with at the moment.
I gotta say I feel a bit old saying these things. I think it's a very good story, with developing characters and A LOT under the surface, I just couldn't ignore the things that I never truly got even when I was younger. Which is exactly why I'm on the fence here, it's GOOD, it is! But too many misgiving to make it a favorite read.

♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥  ♥

See! Told you it's going to be short :) well, I DID read just 7 novels the whole month.. Outrageous!

Till next month!

Kiss Me Kate (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #6) [Kate & Etienne] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ½ ~~~

I was really nervous about this one.. also I had a few rough days so sitting down, being relaxed enough to read was also a struggle and as I finally sat and started reading I realized this is NOT what I feared it would be :)

Like the first three in the series this one is also a rekindled love story. Kate and Etienne had a summer fling (much like Fitz and Daisy) but it ended badly for both of them even though it wasn't for the SAME reasons. We get glimpses into the past, when they were 15 years old along with the "real time" plot line which was sweet

COVER REVEAL - Us (Him #2) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

It's no secret I'm more than a fan of Sarina Bowen's writing, for me, everything she writes is GOLD. I've also recently started reading Elle (after reading her collab with Sarina) and have been enjoying myself with the first two books in her NA College series "Off-Campus".
When HIM was out I was pumped as I'm usually am (up to the roof ;)) - It was as amazing as I knew it's going to be. So if you're here and you haven't read HIM yet - shame on you! go ahead and grab it and read it! It's funny and tender with two best friends who lost each other over one silly night rekindling their friendship and finding love with one another.
I loved everything about it, truly couldn't put it down. Also loved how seamless the book felt even though it was written by two authors (which is another reason I was so excited about this one!).

Today we're here for this STUNNING cover reveal.
When it dropped in my email box I was starring at it for a while and just feeling it.
It's so THEM, isn't it?

Are you breathing? :)

This book will be out on 8 March 2016

Wild About Weston (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #5) [Weston & Molly] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ½ ~~~

Weston, Weston.. sweet, tender, warm hearted and yeah, has the tendency to punch guys in the face at times hehe Really enjoyed this one! Gotta say I WAS considering which is my absolute favorite - him or Stratton, but as it seems Stratton is going to stay my favorite book boyfriend :) and yet, this story was really special. Though the story only spans less than two days, we get a love story I could totally believe. A bit instant love-y I guess, and yeah it was a Happy For Now because of the short time they know each other but I really liked the buildup of their "relationship" or rather how they got closer and closer to one another.

The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4 (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #1-4) by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ½ ~~~

Though I've recently uploaded my reviews of the first 4 books in the "Blueberry 1 - The English Brothers" as stand alone novels, I'm actually a cheat ;) I bought them in this set but thought it would be better to have an individual review for each

Here are the links to the individual reviews:
1. Breaking Up with Barrett [Barrett & Emily] ★★★★
2. Falling For Fitz [Fitz & Daisy] ★★★★
3. Anyone But Alex [Alex & Jessica] ★★★★
4. Seduced by Stratton [Stratton & Val] ★★★★

Seduced by Stratton (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #4) [Stratton & Val] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ~~~

Oh MY! This one was PERFECT! I KNEW I'm totally going to fall for Stratton and I was SO right. I guess the confident, alpha type is what usually attracts others in a hero, but for me, someone like Stratton is much more real, much more interesting to see evolve. How someone shy, insecure in a way, awkward and yet gorgeous and talented finds his HEA with someone who understand him and doesn't expect him to change, on the contrary - appreciates who he is even when he says and does things that might make other people, mostly women, cringe :)

Anyone but Alex (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #3) [Alex & Jessica] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ~~~

Another sweet installment in the English Brothers series. I gotta say I just love ALL brothers, naturally Alex included ;) It's so much fun seeing each of the brothers getting his HEA as well as seeing the interaction between the brothers, each being a bit different yet they are all the same when it comes to supporting each other. Like the previous installments this is also a re-kindled love story, but more like Barrett's than Fitz's in the sense that Alex and Jessie's love story started when he was there for her when she was a kid, growing up in the house next door and dealing with her father's death.

Falling for Fitz (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #2) [Fitz & Daisy] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ~~~

Another sweet installment, really enjoyed this one. Like the previous one it's a sort of rekindled love, I guess even more than the previous one because Emily and Barrett were never a couple, while Fitz and Daisy had a past as a couple even if for just a brief summer.

Breaking Up with Barrett (Blueberry Lane 1 - The English Brothers #1) [Barrett & Emily] by Katy Regnery ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ~~~

I really enjoyed this sweet short romance between Barrett English and Emily Edwards. Barrett and Emily have known each other their whole life, which made the relationship buildup quicker in pace. In a way, I thought there wasn't enough "conflicts" between the two, only one at the end which resolved very quickly. It was more them finding how much they feel about each other and accepting one another as their lover even though they come from totally different worlds.

Being Grateful #1 - 2016 Resolutions

I had this idea a few months ago about writing each day things I'm grateful for, things that moved, inspired, or impacted me. I was even thinking about opening a new blog and making it this big idea. Yet 2016 started and I wasn't exactly ready and truthfully the first few days were so lazy, literally NOTHING happened to "report" or make it a "big thing" somehow. So as the days went by, I was thinking about the past month and a half and you know what? I have PLENTY to be thankful for. Well, it's not that I didn't KNOW that in my heart, I just didn't express it in words so it was just a feeling with no substance, if it makes any sense..

We'll have to start in the beginning..

Rule (Marked Men #1) [Rule & Shaw] by Jay Crownover ~~~ ★ ★ ★ ★ ~~~

I enjoyed reading this one, but I gotta say, it's a rounded up 4 star review. Because though it was good, it wasn't great and I had a few issues I'm having a hard time ignoring. I loved both Rune and Shaw, they felt very realistic, especially because they weren't perfect, not even close. Actually NO ONE was perfect in this book, everyone had some sort of an issue which made all of them relate-able and considering most of the people are going to appear in the next installments it does make it more interesting and intriguing to keep on reading the other books in the series.

January 2016 Goals

January Goals! YAY! I'm SO excited to begin this year, not just because of the awesome list of books I have planned because I feel it's a sort of new beginning or a new feel to my life somehow even though I didn't change that much - yeah, I went back to school, and I'm getting ready for applying for my M.A.
I feel truly GREAT with my life, when I'm living, what I'm doing, the people around me :)

Rule (Marked Men, #1)   ★ ★ ★ ★
I have this series on my list for at least a YEAR. I can't even remember who recommended it to me! But I DO know I love tattoos, love tattooed men and so I'm happy to try this New Adult Romance series. In the end since the series was quite angsty and I wasn't in the mood for it, I decided to postpone it to next month.

Kiss me Kate (The English Brothers, #6)   ★ ★ ★ ★ ½
My book friend Cristina, recommended this author to me awhile back, and though I wanted to get my hands on this Contemporary Romance series I had to find the time to actually schedule it. This is a sort of "sub-series" of the "Blueberry Lane" series containing both this one - The English Brothers, as well as "The Winslow Brothers" (I scheduled for later this year) and 3 more to be published in the near future. What I DID find the time to read was "A Modern Fairytale", at the moment it has two novels which I absolutely LOVED! So I'm really excited to try this series.

Let 2016 begin!

Check out more of my Recap and Goals of the past months!

2015 Yearly Recap

I can't believe this year is over! so much has happened! Well, the first half of the year was mostly quiet, but then came the other half in which I was 3 months buried in books getting ready to one HORRIBLE exam and managed to move TWICE in less than 5 months, finished correcting two old tattoos and got myself a new one! Got myself a new car, went to Germany with my mom, did a part of the "Castle Road" which was AWESOME, then went to Munich to visit my two cousin and a book friend which was also GREAT (Even though I was sick the whole day...). Later on I went to a few days off in the south of Israel which was exactly what I needed before my second move.

Truly a year to remember! Though I always seem to wish for relaxed days like the one I was having the day I took this photo ;)

I thought about a project for 2016, not sure if I want to open a new blog for it or not.. it's mainly a way to remember and appreciate the following days. Basically it's pointing out for each day what I'm happy about, grateful for etc. I made a list, but naturally I can't find it hehe Since I'm not sure about the new blog I was thinking of making it a weekly post of collected thoughts, my resolves and insights into that specific week.

Getting back to my yearly recap → Statistics!

I also almost (!) finished all of Aleksandr Voinov's published work, but I still have 3 more. I added A LOT of Amy Lane's novels and plan on finished most of her books and series next year (though I'll still have a few PNR series for 2017 ;)).

Looking at all the amazing authors and specific books in this list I can't help but smile remembering how I enjoyed them. All I can hope that next year's list is going to be the same if not better :)
